How Much is Vincent Herbert Worth?

Let’s talk about Vincent Herbert, the man who’s made a name for himself in the music industry and beyond. With a net worth of $3 million, this Newark-born producer, songwriter, and founder of Streamline Records has certainly carved out a niche. Vincent first burst onto the scene as a music producer and later became a household name through his reality show, “Tamar & Vince,” which aired on WE tv from 2012 to 2017. Not only did he build Streamline Records, an imprint of Interscope Records, in 2007, but he's also worked with some of the biggest names in music, including Tatyana Ali, Toni Braxton, Destiny’s Child, and Lady Gaga. In 2011, Herbert earned a Primetime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Variety, Music or Comedy Special for his work on “Lady Gaga Presents: The Monster Ball Tour at Madison Square Garden.” That's quite the resume, isn't it?

From Newark to Stardom: Vincent Herbert's Early Days

Vincent Herbert’s story begins in Newark, New Jersey, where he was born on January 27, 1973. Growing up, Vincent wasn’t just any kid—he was the guy his classmates nicknamed “the water bottle,” and he went on to serve as senior class president at Cambridge Christian School. But it was his passion for music that truly set him apart. By the tender age of 10, Vincent was already making his own music, setting the stage for a career that would take him places he probably never imagined.

A Career in Music and Beyond

Vincent’s journey in the music world started early. He first dipped his toes into the waters of composing with Murray Head’s “Between Us” album in 1979 and followed it up with Head’s 1981 album “Voices.” From there, he went on to remix Babyface’s 1991 album “A Closer Look,” produce Al B. Sure!’s “Sexy Versus” in 1992, and serve as both a producer and composer on Hi-Five’s “Keep It Goin’ On” the same year. In 1993, Vincent worked with Toni Braxton, his future sister-in-law, producing, composing, mixing, and remixing tracks on her self-titled debut album. The '90s were a whirlwind for Herbert, as he collaborated with Dionne Warwick, The Winans, Aaliyah, Montell Jordan, and Tatyana Ali.

  • But Vincent didn’t stop there. In the late '90s, he worked with Destiny’s Child, producing and composing their self-titled 1998 album and composing their 1999 album “The Writing’s on the Wall.” His influence extended to albums by Dream, Immature, JoJo, and his wife, Tamar Braxton. He also played a pivotal role in Lady Gaga’s career, serving as the executive producer and A&R person for her 2010 single “Alejandro.” Vincent’s touch was evident in Lady Gaga’s “Paparazzi” (2009) and “Telephone” (2010) music videos, as well as the TV specials “Lady Gaga Presents: The Monster Ball Tour at Madison Square Garden” (2011) and “A Very Gaga Thanksgiving” (2011). And let’s not forget his reality TV debut on “Tamar & Vince,” a spinoff of “Braxton Family Values,” where he and Tamar performed the theme song “You’re My Monday & My Friday.”

Love, Loss, and Lessons: Vincent's Personal Journey

On the personal front, Vincent Herbert’s life has been as dynamic as his career. In 2003, he began a relationship with Tamar Braxton, the youngest sister of R&B icon Toni Braxton. The couple first appeared alongside Toni on the WE tv reality series “Braxton Family Values.” Herbert and Braxton tied the knot on November 27, 2008, and welcomed their son Logan into the world on June 6, 2013. However, their marriage hit rocky waters, culminating in a divorce in July 2019.

Vincent’s life took another turn in 2015 when, after a heart attack, he decided to make a drastic change. He underwent stomach stapling surgery and lost over 100 pounds, embracing a healthier lifestyle. But legal troubles weren’t far behind. In October 2017, a judge ordered Vincent to pay Sony $3.7 million to settle a lawsuit over a 2013 advance. The company alleged that Vincent had intercepted payments that were supposed to go to Sony, leading to the financial dispute.

    Real Estate Rollercoaster

In April 2013, Vincent and Tamar splurged on a $10.5 million mansion in Calabasas, California. Nestled in the exclusive gated community of Mountain View Estates, the 15,000-square-foot estate was a dream come true. But dreams can turn into nightmares. The couple tried to sell the house in 2017 for $15.995 million, but the price kept dropping—first to $15 million, then $13.95 million, and eventually to $9.25 million. That’s a $1.25 million loss, a bitter pill to swallow for Vincent and Tamar, who were dealing with mounting financial and relationship issues. At one point, they were $250,000 behind on the mortgage, and there were even public notices of mortgage default. It was a tough period, with several cars and other assets being repossessed.

So there you have it—Vincent Herbert’s story, a tale of success, challenges, and resilience. From producing hit records to starring in reality TV, Vincent has worn many hats, proving that life is a journey filled with twists and turns.
