Etche Leaders Denounce Nwaeke's Allegations Against Gov. Fubara

In a dramatic turn of events, the Etche ethnic group, the cultural and ancestral home of former Head of Service George Nwaeke, has publicly disowned him. The group strongly denounced the allegations Nwaeke made against Governor Siminalayi Fubara, labeling them as politically motivated falsehoods. This decision was announced during a press conference held in Port Harcourt on Tuesday, where Etche leaders gathered to voice their concerns and set the record straight.

Etche Leaders Call Nwaeke a Liar and Betrayer

The leaders minced no words, calling Nwaeke a liar, a betrayer, and someone who lacks integrity. They emphasized that his erratic behavior and questionable character have long been a concern within the community. In fact, they revealed that Nwaeke is often excluded from critical community meetings where the future and welfare of the Etche people are discussed. His actions, they argue, have not only damaged his reputation but have also brought shame to the entire Etche ethnic group.

Nwaeke's Claims Against Gov. Fubara

Earlier, in a press conference held in the nation's capital, Abuja, Nwaeke accused Governor Fubara of orchestrating the demolition of the Rivers State House of Assembly complex. According to him, this was allegedly done to thwart impeachment proceedings against the governor. Nwaeke went further, alleging that Governor Fubara paid his former Chief of Staff, Dr. Edison Ehie, to carry out the demolition. He also claimed that the governor was involved with militant groups, a statement that has sparked widespread controversy.

However, Etche stakeholders swiftly dismissed these allegations, stating that they were scripted by political sponsors in Abuja who aim to tarnish the governor's image. "We want to make it crystal clear that Nwaeke's allegations are baseless. His claims are nothing but lies influenced by external political forces. He's simply trying to please his paymasters in Abuja," said Ogbonna Nwuke, a former member of the House of Representatives, who led the group of Etche leaders during the press conference.

Secret Approach to the Governor's Chief of Staff

The Etche leaders also revealed that before his explosive press briefing, Nwaeke had secretly approached the Chief of Staff of the Rivers State Government House, seeking financial assistance in exchange for his loyalty. This, they argue, highlights his insatiable hunger for financial gain and explains why he would make such unfounded allegations against the governor. "His actions are purely driven by greed. He's trying to please those who are financially backing him," Nwuke added.

    Discrepancies in Nwaeke's Statements

The group also pointed out significant discrepancies in Nwaeke's statements, particularly how his account of events conflicted with his wife's testimony. This inconsistency further discredits his claims and underscores his lack of credibility. The Etche leaders urged everyone to scrutinize his statements carefully and not take them at face value.

    Call for Investigation and Accountability

The Etche ethnic group has called on security agencies to investigate Nwaeke's conduct and hold him accountable for spreading falsehoods against the governor and other prominent leaders in Rivers State. "This will serve as a strong deterrent to anyone who may wish to spread lies for political or financial gain," the group warned. They insisted that Nwaeke must be held responsible for his actions and that justice must prevail.

Opposition to the State of Emergency

Meanwhile, the Etche leaders also expressed their opposition to the state of emergency imposed in Rivers State, which led to the suspension of Governor Fubara, the Deputy Governor, and members of the Rivers State House of Assembly. They appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to reconsider the decision, warning that it could exacerbate the ongoing political tensions in the state. "This decision is not in the best interest of Rivers State. It could lead to further unrest and instability," they cautioned.

In conclusion, the Etche leaders are standing firm in their defense of Governor Fubara and are determined to protect the integrity and honor of their community. They believe that truth and justice will ultimately prevail, and they urge all stakeholders to come together to find a peaceful resolution to the current political crisis in Rivers State.
