Vice President Shettima Urges Nigerians To Prioritize Unity And Peace

Shettima Advocates for Unity and Peace as Pillars for Progress
According to a report from Naija News, Vice President Kashim Shettima has delivered an inspiring message to Nigerians, encouraging them to hold tight to unity, peaceful coexistence, and tolerance. These values, he believes, are essential to achieving the progress we all desire for our great nation. Speaking in the spirit of Ramadan, Shettima emphasized how these lessons can be applied not just personally but collectively, to move Nigeria forward.
During a luncheon in Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State, the Vice President shared his thoughts with local elders and former classmates. He celebrated the joy of Eid-El-Fitr, a time of reflection and gratitude, and encouraged everyone to carry forward the positive energy and unity experienced during the holy month.
A Message of Patience and Commitment
Through Abdulkadir Rahis, the representative of Maiduguri Metropolitan Constituency in the House of Representatives, Shettima conveyed his appreciation to the Almighty Allah for the blessings of life and health. He expressed heartfelt wishes for everyone to carry forward the unity that has brought us together, turning it into a gift for one another. “We need to perfect, maintain, and build on the sense of unity that exists among us,” he said, urging everyone to keep the collective goal of progress at the forefront of their minds.

Shettima also highlighted the importance of supporting the administration’s economic reforms. While acknowledging the challenges these reforms may bring in the short term, he assured Nigerians that patience will pay off. “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is committed to implementing policies that will create sustainable development for all Nigerians. Just as Ramadan teaches endurance, we ask for your continued patience as these necessary reforms take root and bear fruit,” he explained.
Carrying Forward the Lessons of Ramadan
The Vice President, who returned to his home state on Sunday evening, urged Nigerians to embody the spiritual lessons learned during Ramadan. These lessons, he believes, serve as a roadmap to national development. “Peaceful coexistence is incredibly important, and we must not let up in maintaining this virtue. It will go a long way in fostering the development of ourselves and our nation,” Shettima emphasized.
In his address, Shettima encouraged citizens of Borno State and all Nigerians to embrace humility and communal living, values deeply rooted in the teachings of the Holy books. These traits, he argued, are the foundation upon which national progress can be built. By living in harmony and respecting one another, Nigerians can create a brighter future for everyone.
As the country continues its journey toward development, Shettima’s message serves as a reminder that unity, peace, and patience are not just ideals but practical tools for success. Together, Nigerians can overcome challenges and achieve the prosperity we all strive for.
