Nigerians Are Suffering: APC Chieftain Moniedafe Speaks Out To Tinubu

Why Sowore Thinks SDP Can’t Bring Down Tinubu in 2027
Let me break it down for you. Former presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, has made it crystal clear that it’s going to be next to impossible for opposition politicians to take down President Bola Tinubu through the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in 2027. He’s not just throwing random words out there; this guy knows his stuff.
According to a report by Naija News, Sowore explained that before Tinubu clinched the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election, he already had his hands deep in the SDP. In other words, the SDP is no stranger to Tinubu’s influence. This means that if anyone thinks they can use the SDP as a magic wand to oust Tinubu, they’re in for a rude awakening.
Sowore’s Take on Tinubu and the SDP
In a candid interview with TVC on Sunday, Sowore laid out his thoughts on the matter. He emphasized that President Tinubu has been a major player in the SDP landscape for a long time. The SDP, he argued, is essentially a branch of Tinubu’s political empire. So, for anyone to think they can just waltz in and dismantle what Tinubu has built is a pipe dream.

Let’s not forget about former Governor Nasir El-Rufai, who recently switched teams and joined the SDP. Sowore speculated that El-Rufai might have been sent by other opposition figures to get the inside scoop on how the SDP operates. But here’s the kicker: Sowore believes El-Rufai might have bitten off more than he can chew. It’s like sending a lamb to the lion’s den.
Sowore’s Predictions and Insights
Now, let’s dive into what Sowore had to say. He stated, “One thing I know and I will disclose here is that the SDP is a family of Ahmed Bola Tinubu as well. It’s one of the branches of his ministry. So, I don’t know if he has lost interest in the SDP, but if it was the SDP before he won the primaries of the APC, it’s going to be tough for this new entrance to get too far within.”
He went on to say, “And I want to make another prediction; it may not come to pass, but it was like they sent El-Rufai to SDP as a circus. And it seems like when El-Rufai came, he was mauled by the first lion. I don’t know which lion mauled him, maybe it’s Adebayo or the SDP people who knew this was going to happen.”
Sowore added, “And I suspect that not as many people that were going to move over to SDP would do so, because I think they found out that there’s a turtle there that’s probably going to handle them differently. But like I said, I’m not a member of the party, but I’m just giving you my own understanding of the politics. I don’t know how far they can go considering these characters that are jumping over the place.”
Wrapping it up, Sowore concluded, “And my own personal conviction is that this coalition is not about winning an election. I think it’s a coalition for negotiation. It’s a coalition to distract the Nigerian people, to create an impression that there’s going to be opposition to the current APC government whereas these are APC operators.”
So, there you have it. Sowore’s take on the political chessboard is clear: the SDP might not be the knight in shining armor some are hoping for. Tinubu’s influence runs deep, and any attempts to unseat him through the SDP could be a tough battle to win.
