Prince Adebayo Criticizes Tinubu's Government: A Call For Change

Prince Adebayo Blasts Tinubu's APC Government
Listen up, folks. Let me tell you what's really going on in Nigeria. Prince Adewole Adebayo, the national leader of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and their 2023 presidential candidate, has some serious concerns about the state of our nation under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC). He's not holding back, either. He's letting everyone know that the current administration is failing the people of Nigeria in a big way.
Prince Adebayo made it crystal clear that Tinubu and the ruling APC are not acting in the best interests of Nigerians. With just under two years to go until the 2027 elections, and only two years since Tinubu took office, Adebayo pointed out that the suffering of the Nigerian people has escalated dramatically. He emphasized that the poor and marginalized are bearing the brunt of this hardship, with millions going to bed hungry every night because food prices have skyrocketed.
The Rising Cost of Living in Nigeria
Here's the deal. Adebayo highlighted the skyrocketing costs of basic necessities, like food and medicine. He explained that malaria, a common illness in Nigeria, is now out of reach for the average person because the cost of treatment has become prohibitively expensive. Many Nigerians are resorting to alternative remedies, which can be dangerous and ineffective. This is not just a healthcare issue; it's a national crisis that demands immediate attention.

Transportation and housing costs are also through the roof. People are struggling to afford the basics, and that's not all. Security in the country has deteriorated to alarming levels. Bandits, kidnappers, armed herdsmen, and terrorists are wreaking havoc across the nation, causing countless deaths and displacing families. Adebayo emphasized that any government that fails to protect its citizens and ensure their well-being is violating its constitutional duty. This is a breach of trust that cannot be ignored.
SDP's Stance on Tinubu's Leadership
Now, here's the important part. Prince Adebayo made it clear that the SDP is not against Tinubu as a person. They respect him, but they strongly oppose his mismanagement of the country. He stated, "If you don't govern well, you are working against the Nigerian people and their welfare and their security. You're breaching Chapter 2 of the Constitution, and you're violating your oath of office. We're tackling you on that basis. Your personal affairs, we don't want to know. We don't have any dispute with Tinubu. We have issues with his misgovernance."
Adebayo described Tinubu's administration as obnoxious and stressed that only a disciplined political party can effectively challenge an incumbent government. He warned that in-fighting and ego clashes within the SDP could create opportunities for the ruling party to exploit. He urged new members joining the SDP to leave their egos and personal ambitions at the door and focus on building a system that addresses the needs of the Nigerian people.
Building a Better Political System
Prince Adebayo emphasized that the SDP is not a platform for drama or theatrics. It's a serious organization dedicated to providing effective governance to the citizens of Nigeria. He said, "Remember, the SDP is not a party of drama. When you come to the SDP, you're part of a team committed to serving the party and the Nigerian populace. This is not a place for personal agendas or selfish pursuits. We're all here to work together for the betterment of our nation."
He also highlighted the professionalism of SDP members in the National Assembly. "Our senators and House of Representatives members don't engage in drama. They focus on their committee work and keep the party informed. They're dedicated to infusing the ethics and manifesto of the SDP into Nigerian politics. You'll never find them involved in acts of indiscipline or conflict. We don't ask them for money; we ask them to remain focused on the ideals of the party."
This is a call to action for Nigerians. The SDP is determined to bring about meaningful change, but they need the support of the people to make it happen. As Prince Adebayo said, "If you want to get rid of an incumbent, you need to be more disciplined than the incumbent." The ball is in our court, and the time to act is now.
