Ryan Serhant's Impressive Net Worth

Alright, listen up, folks. Ryan Serhant is not just another face in the crowd. This American actor, real estate powerhouse, TV star, and author has built an empire worth a staggering $40 million. Ryan didn’t start out in real estate. Back in the day, he played Evan Walsh on 19 episodes of the iconic soap opera "As the World Turns" from 2007 to 2008. But, like many of us, he decided to pivot. Fast forward to 2012, and Ryan was ranked the 15th most successful real estate broker in New York by "The Real Deal" magazine. That's right, 15th in the entire city! He didn’t stop there. Ryan landed a starring role on Bravo's "Million Dollar Listing New York" and even got his own spin-off, "Sell It Like Serhant," in 2018. That same year, he founded Serhant Media Group. But here’s the kicker: his real estate sales course, "Sell It Like Serhant: The Course," launched in 2019 and made over $100,000 a day. It became the most commercially successful real estate course ever. Oh, and in 2020, Ryan opened his own real estate firm, SERHANT, and has published two books, "Sell It Like Serhant" in 2018 and "Big Money Energy" in 2021. This guy is unstoppable!

Early Days: Where It All Began

Ryan Serhant was born Ryan Matthew Serhant on July 2, 1984, in Houston, Texas. But don’t let that Texas birthplace fool you—he grew up in Topsfield, Massachusetts. His dad was no ordinary guy; he was the Vice Chairman of State Street Global Advisors. Now, here’s the interesting part: Ryan’s dad taught him and his younger brother, Jack, the value of hard work by paying them $1.50 an hour to collect firewood, then letting them sell it to their neighbors. Crazy, right? Ryan studied at the Pingree School and spent many summers in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, attending Perry-Mansfield Performing Arts School & Camp. After high school, he attended Hamilton College and joined the Delta Kappa Epsilon fraternity, graduating with degrees in theatre and English literature in 2006. Like many young dreamers, Ryan moved to New York City to pursue acting, paying his rent by taking part in stock photo shoots. He landed a role on "As the World Turns" in 2007, but when his acting career slowed down, he decided to try real estate. And, well, the rest is history.

Real Estate: Building an Empire

Ryan's real estate journey started right after the subprime mortgage industry collapsed in 2008. His first year wasn’t exactly a walk in the park—he only earned $9,000. But Ryan’s not one to give up easily. Things picked up after another year of hard work, and he sold an $8.5 million property. That’s when the floodgates opened. Ryan became the managing director and executive vice president of Nest Seekers International, the company he'd been working for since 2008. In 2012, Ryan launched the Serhant Team, a brokerage group that grew to over 60 employees in New York City, Los Angeles, Miami, New Jersey, and the Hamptons. According to his official website, "The Serhant Team has done over $4 billion in sales, has sold more than 80 new development projects across New York, Los Angeles, and Miami, and has broken price-per-square-foot records across the city." And just when you thought it couldn’t get better, in the fall of 2020, Ryan opened the real estate firm SERHANT. Some of the firm’s big sales include a $33 million Miami penthouse and a $69 million home on NYC's Madison Avenue. Incredible, right?

Entertainment: The Star Side of Ryan

While real estate is Ryan’s bread and butter, he hasn’t forgotten his acting roots. Besides "As the World Turns," Ryan’s acting credits include the films "Withdrawal" (2010) and "While We're Young" (2015) and the television series "The Mysteries of Laura" (2015) and "Inside Amy Schumer" (2016). He auditioned for Bravo's "Million Dollar Listing New York" in 2010, and it premiered in March 2012, showcasing Ryan and fellow real estate agents Michael Lorber and Fredrik Eklund as they closed exclusive deals across New York. In 2018, Ryan created the spin-off "Sell It Like Serhant," which he also produces. He’s also been a guest on "Today" and "Watch What Happens: Live" multiple times and has appeared on "Ca$h Cab," "On the Money," and "Larry King Now." Ryan’s not just a face on TV—he’s a force to be reckoned with.

    Personal Life: Love and Family

Ryan’s personal life is just as fascinating. In September 2014, he proposed to lawyer Emilia Bechrakis in grand style by shutting down Times Square for an hour. The couple tied the knot in Greece on July 7, 2016, and the four-part series "Million Dollar Listing New York: Ryan's Wedding" aired in the fall. The couple welcomed their daughter, Zena, on February 26, 2019. Ryan even shared their IVF journey with viewers on season seven of "Million Dollar Listing New York." Talk about transparency!

    Real Estate: His Dream Home

In 2018, Ryan splurged $7.6 million on a 7,670 square foot townhouse in Brooklyn. He bought the home from author Jonathan Safran Foer, and it’s a real gem. The house boasts eight bedrooms, 12-foot ceilings, exposed brick, and a 26-foot-long master bedroom closet. Ryan’s clearly got a taste for luxury, and why shouldn’t he? He’s earned it!
