Hilda Dokubo Dispels Death Rumours Amid Political Tensions In Rivers State

Hilda Dokubo Shuts Down Death Rumours
Let me tell you a story. Veteran Nollywood actress Hilda Dokubo recently found herself at the center of a bizarre whirlwind of rumors swirling around the internet. Amid the intense political tension gripping Rivers State, whispers began to spread that Hilda had passed away. But guess what? The rumors couldn't be further from the truth. Hilda herself came forward to set the record straight, and she didn’t hold back.
Naija News learned that the origin of this misinformation can be traced back to Facebook. It all started when some folks claimed that Sim Fubara, the suspended governor of Rivers State, allegedly hired Hilda to organize and chair a rally. The goal? To pressure President Bola Tinubu and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike. This was supposed to happen on March 25, 2025. But as we all know, the internet loves a good rumor, and it quickly spiraled out of control.
What happened next was almost comical, if it weren’t so alarming. People started walking around with Hilda’s pictures, singing funeral songs. It was as if they were mourning her, even though she was very much alive and kicking. Hilda, known for her fearless spirit, decided to address the situation head-on during an Instagram Live session on Friday.

Hilda Speaks Out: Alive and Kicking
Hilda Dokubo didn’t mince words when she addressed her fans. She made it crystal clear that she’s in great health and has no plans of slowing down anytime soon. She emphasized that she’ll continue speaking her mind, especially when it comes to politics and governance. In her characteristic style, she made sure everyone knew that money isn’t her motivator. She’s not the type to be swayed by bribes, and everyone, including Sim Fubara, knows that.
Hilda reiterated her commitment to advocating for good governance. She didn’t shy away from expressing her thoughts and opinions, even if they ruffled a few feathers. She said, “Everybody, this is me, healthy and strong. I’m not dead. I’m not dying now. I’m not afraid. Do you know how many times blogs have written that I died? Every second, every minute, they’re killing one actor or the other. So, it’s not a big deal.”
“But a lot of people have been worried. I also worry for my friends. People had even gone to visit my mum who is almost 80 years old. If you know anything about me, I am fearless. Whatever I want to do, I will do. And I will say exactly how I want to say it. I was properly raised by very good parents. Money is the least of my cares. Everybody, including (Sim) Fubara (suspended Rivers State governor), knows that I am not ‘bribeable.’ If I were, I wouldn’t be where I am. I wouldn’t be on the side of truth.”
Clearing the Air on Politics and Dancing
Hilda didn’t stop there. She went on to clarify that she has no interest in organizing rallies or getting involved in political schemes. She added, “I have no business organizing a rally or whatever you called it to push a man. If you had any sense in your chicken head, you would have known that I love to dance. Every time I attend an event in my community, I dance. If you can’t find me dancing, you can only find me climbing up a stage to make a speech.”
She concluded by emphasizing her stance on politics. Hilda Dokubo is not one to let bitterness cloud her judgment. She declared, “I would never wish him dead. I am not a proponent of politics with bitterness. I am not a coward and can never be one. No matter what they do, I will not change my position. I will try my best to ignore ignoramuses. But I want you to take this as a fact: I, Hilda, will never, ever wish death on anyone. Not even at my lowest.”
And there you have it. Hilda Dokubo, in her own words, setting the record straight. She’s alive, well, and ready to keep fighting for what she believes in. So, the next time you hear a rumor, take a moment to verify it before jumping to conclusions. After all, the truth always prevails.
