Nollywood Star Hanks Anuku Opens Up About Industry Struggles And The Power Of Unity

Experienced Nollywood Actor Shares Insights on His Journey
Naija News brings you the heartfelt story of Hanks Anuku, a respected figure in the Nollywood film industry. During a candid appearance on the Nollywood Hardcore podcast, Anuku revealed some of the challenges he’s faced in his career. He spoke openly about the darker side of the industry and the struggles of staying true to oneself amidst envy and jealousy.
It’s not always easy being in the spotlight, and Anuku knows this all too well. The talented actor admitted that some of his peers have resorted to underhanded tactics, including blackmail, driven by envy. He shared how this has affected him personally but also how he’s managed to rise above it all.
Calling for Love and Unity in the Industry
Hanks Anuku passionately urged his fellow actors to come together and support one another. He emphasized the importance of fostering a sense of community and mutual respect within the industry. It’s not just about surviving, he said, but thriving together and lifting each other up.

In his own words, Anuku explained, “Life is full of ups and downs, but the challenges in this industry seem to be amplified. It’s like climbing a staircase that wasn’t properly built. Just when you think you’re making progress, someone is waiting to pull you back down. There’s a lot of negativity, envy, and jealousy out there. Some people even stoop to blackmailing others because they can’t handle the success of their peers.”
He continued, “But here’s the thing: we’re all in this together. We need each other. No one can do it alone. Whether you’re a newcomer or a seasoned veteran, we all face the same challenges. Instead of tearing each other down, why don’t we lift each other up? Why don’t we celebrate each other’s successes and help each other through the tough times?”
The Need for Deliverance and Understanding
Anuku also touched on the importance of seeking spiritual guidance and deliverance. He encouraged his colleagues to address any negative feelings they might have towards others and to work on cultivating love and understanding. He said, “Even if you don’t agree with someone or if you feel resentment towards them, that’s okay. But instead of letting those feelings fester, why not seek help? Go to church, talk to someone you trust, and work through those emotions. We’re all human, and we all make mistakes. But we’re not meant to condemn each other. We’re meant to love each other.”
His message was clear: “We’re not perfect, and that’s okay. But we can strive to be better. We can strive to be kinder, more compassionate, and more understanding. Imagine a world where we all loved each other unconditionally. Imagine how much stronger our industry would be if we supported each other instead of tearing each other down. There’s no downside to loving one another. It’s something we should all embrace.”
Wrapping up his thoughts, Anuku said, “Life is a journey, and it’s not over for me yet. God has big plans for me, and I believe in the power of perseverance. No matter what challenges I face, I’ll keep pushing forward because I know there’s still so much more to achieve. We all have a role to play in this industry, and together, we can make it a place where everyone feels valued and supported.”
